Today, Alli and I managed to see our favourite TOM STURRIDGE in Likeminds :D
It's a psychological thriller (with some morbid NC16 scenes) which is entirely engrossing and intriguing, just that some parts are hard to understand.
"Alex Forbes is young, privileged and charged with the shotgun death of his schoolmate, Nigel Colby. With insufficient evidence, the detective on his case is under pressure to have the charges dropped and brings in a forensic psychologist, Sally Rowe (Collette), hoping to confirm the boy's guilt. Delving deeply into their bizarre world of secrets and mind games, Sally discovers that though dead, Nigel's psychological effect on Alex is far from diminished."
"The film explores controversial aspects of the history of the Catholic Church and its challengers as an underlying theme which unites many elements of the story. The vulnerabilty of the adolescent, with impulses toward grandiosity, idealism and challenges to the authority and hipocracy of the adult world also underlies and renders more plausible the story."
